#4..so what if you’ve failed?

Updated: Jan 9

…keep trying. What else can we do? - what is the other option that we have? Give up?..and maybe.. Give in?

”A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials.” - Seneca

We may have failed...But since when did we become so good at everything so we don’t have to learn anything but be straight forward winners? When we were kids - we were learning everything - and at the first try - we failed at everything. Remember your first step? - probably don’t.. But most probably - you fell on your bum afterwards. So what? - your parents most probably were so happy and cheering at you.. You were learning. Nobody expected you to get on your feet and
start running.

Since when are we no longer curious to learn and accepting that failure it’s… honestly.. most part of the process. Until we were able to stand on our feet, and put one step in front of the other - for a good sequence - and call it a walk - we kept failing…but we were learning - and when we look at a child learning to walk - we still see this whole process as natural and normal as it should be.

..so..when did we stop learning? .. or better yet, when we decided to start assuming that - “ from now on, we gotta go through life winning everything - every battle, every situation - we already know everything and we cannot fail anymore - we cannot learn anymore.. we gotta win? ”

“The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.” - Marcus Aurelius

Everyday, we are taking steps on our own paths of life - towards our true north - and everyday - we are learning. Sometimes the surroundings are familiar and we are able to run it, sometimes we are cautious and we wanna walk it for a while and sometimes it’s a whole new terrain in front of us and we may stumble - but it’s the only way - we are not failing - we are learning..and we have to learn it - because everything that it’s on our way - we will stand in our way - until we pass by it .. and for that we gotta learn.

Just like we did when we were kids - and we did it in front of everyone and everyone was cheering at us at every trial. It got us ready to do the same in silence - for ourselves- we have to try it as many times as we need to, in our own way, at our own pace, with our own challenges on our own path.. And to cheer ourselves for any trial that we face..with joy, with curiosity.. with gratefulness for the chance to learn more.

MIND YOUR TRUE NORTH.
